1. Eat cooked food only. This is my cardinal rule, although it is not always easy to keep. Check out my stories on the Culinary Challenges pages to see how I cope in a business situation. This rule serves my well - I have traveled to small towns in Mexico, and big cities in India and China, and have never been sick!
  2. Don’t ask food policy. Sometimes it’s better if you don’t know what you are eating. However, I strongly encourage you to break this rule if you have food allergies.
  3. Learn to share. In some cultures, sharing food is a sign of hospitality. Personally, I don’t like to share, but I will not insult my host. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do.
